- denies allegation of ethnic agenda
The gubernatorial candidate of the Kwara state Peoples Democratic Party, Alh. Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi has described the award given to Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq by the Vanguard Newspapers for “completing Idiagbon flyover” in Tanke as fraudulent and irresponsible.
In a press release signed by his special adviser on media and strategy, Abdulwahab Oba, Yaman described the award as an affront to the sensibilities of Kwarans knowing fully well that the poor construction is yet to be completed.
“It’s also on record that AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has not only refused to be open and transparent on the award of the contract for the construction of the flyover but also refused to allow its inspection by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
According to the PDP gubernatorial candidate, the only awards deserved by the governor are “grade one awards in profligacy, inefficiency and unjustifiable debt profile”.
Alh. Yaman called on the governor to address Kwarans on the allegations that he is building a refinery in Cote d’Ivoire with the state’s resources and trying to take another loan from the French government.
The gubernatorial hopeful called on governor AbdulRahman to know that if God made him governor from a humble background, no amount of extravagance, intimidation of traditional rulers and harassment of civil servants can assure him an undeserved second term of office.
Alh. Yaman denied the allegation of interest in excising Nupeland from Kwara to Niger State, describing the allegation, ninety seconds to APC’s midnight, as outrageous, provocative and divisive.
He accused AbdulRahman of an attempt to derail established cordial relationships between ethnic components of the state for selfish reasons.
“I strongly advised the governor and his handlers to desist from incendiary rhetoric and focus on providing verifiable dividends of democracy and good governance to the people”, Yaman said.
