- empathizes with Kwara people over the failure of Abdulrazaq led APC govt
The President of the 8th Senate, Dr Abubabakar Bukola Saraki has again emphasized the need for members of the Peoples Democratic Party, to work hand in hand with Nigerians in their respective wards, to ensure the victory of the Party come 2023.
According to his Press Officer on Home Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki said the people have no other choice than to vote out the All Progressives Congress, APC, both at the national and state level, hence, drummed support for the PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Kwara PDP Governorship candidate, Alhaji Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi and all the PDP candidates in the coming elections.
Speaking at an interactive session with PDP women at his residence in Ilorin, where he received a rowdy welcome on Wednesday, Saraki empathized with the people of Kwara for the failure of the Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq administration, which according to him has resulted in hunger, incessant protests by workers, high unemployment rate and insecurity.
“It is a pity we find ourselves in this present situation that has made life so hard for the people. This is why even the Governor cannot accept invite to a debate or face the people to give account of what his government has been able to do.
“We need to go back to our various polling units, talk to our people and ensure that the PDP takes back the government for the good of the people.
“Voters should not be deceived by all their propaganda, they should vote massively for all PDP candidates from Atiku, Yaman, national to state assemblies candidates,” he said.
Earlier the Kwara state Chairman of PDP, Rt Hon Babatunde Muhammed, announced to the people that the campaign for the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections start today, while the Presidential and National Assembly elections kicked off two weeks ago.
While also expressing worry with the state of things in Kwara, the party chairman highlighted some of the challenges foisted on the people to include food scarcity, over taxation of transporters and marketers, and poor welfare for workers who protest every now and then.
“Since the inception of this administration, no meaningful project has been executed. There has been no Local Government election and the state government continues to mismanage LG funds. Even the Governor has not been able to manage his own Party, not to talk of managing the state.”
Muhammed stated that the only alternative out of the worsening situation of things is for PDP and the people to show the APC administration the exit door, by voting massively for all candidates of the PDP.
The PDP women who took turn to speak expressed their frustration at the Gov Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led administration, saying it had made life hard for the people.
They expressed happiness at the homecoming of Saraki and his resolve to help rescue Kwara through his purposeful leadership.
The state woman leader of the Party, Alhaji Risikat Abdullahi, also lauded the PDP National Chieftain for his love for Women inclusiveness, and reassured of their readiness to work for the victory of the PDP.
It was a carnival of sort at the Ilorin country home of the former Senate President as mammoth crowd welcomed him back to Ilorin amid cheers, praise songs and dance.
The Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate had received similar welcome at the airport earlier on Wednesday as party loyalists and residents thronged the airport to receive him.
