Justice Nicole Clay of the Lagos State High Court has discharged and acquitted three individuals who were detained in connection with the #EndSARS movement. The news was shared by the Take-It-Back Movement on Monday, expressing gratitude to the legal team that fought for their freedom.

The Take-It-Back Movement, in a statement, highlighted the ongoing efforts to secure the release of approximately 10 more #EndSARS protesters who remain in prison. The organisation vowed to continue its advocacy until all detainees are set free.

The discharged detainees, namely Sunday Okoro, Olumide Fatai, and Oluwole Yisa, were represented in court by Barrister Ogunlana. Celebrating the court’s decision, the movement announced the news on its social media platform, emphasizing the year-long legal battle that led to this outcome.

In a post on its official handle, the movement stated, “After a year-long legal intervention by the TIB, Court discharges and acquits three #EndSARS detainees – Sunday Okoro, Olumide Fatai, and Oluwole Yisa. Great appreciation to our Lagos team who stayed on the case.”

The acquittal of these individuals marks a significant milestone in the quest for justice following the #EndSARS protests, with attention now turning to the remaining detainees awaiting their day in court. As public interest in this case remains high, stakeholders continue to monitor developments closely, hoping for further positive outcomes in the near future.
